For those that don't know me, my name is Ray. I'm from Northport, NY and do a bunch of things. This blog is going to be mainly for poker and some personal life ish, nothing too crazy. I go by Defjux41 on various poker sites, Cake, Stars, FT. I play a decent volume of SNG's (not so much recently) and I'm trying to learn ICM better to up my profits there, and I grind out MTT's on Cake against shit opponents for the most part. Pretty much stopped playing cash games altogether, though I am alright at them.
So today gave me alot to write about... I played a ton of volume on a Degen Sunday.
On Cake:
10:30- $5r (out)
Noon- $30 NL (out)
Noon- $50k Satty (won seat)
1pm- $10r (chopped for $1550)
1:45pm- $12 Turbo (out)
2pm- $2k Guar Turbo (out)
3pm- $50k Guar (5th for ~$2600)
3:45pm- $30 NL (out)
4pm- $4k Guar Bounty (out)
5pm- $100k Guar (out)
6pm- $5r (out)
Obv the 2 big scores alot to talk about. Split the $10r with someone from my staking team, good times. The $50k was the big one for the day. Played it very well from beginning to end, never really had to sweat much until the final 2 tables. Got down to ~4.5BB, lucky river 10 AIPF my A10 vs. villain AJ and that got me rolling again. Final table came along and I did fairly well with not so fairly good cards, but I got paid off on my big hands. Then 5 handed JJ
Lost all the others were I got in pretty good, minus the $100k where I got AI on the turn with Aces against a flopped set. Oops, I should've seen that better. Gotta learn to not play such a big pot that early with just Aces, especially once we're post-flop. Just gotta keep getting it in good and we'll make noise like we did.
Stars:
$11 Deepstack- Out on KK<55, oh well.
Tilt:
-Played some sattys for the FTOPS events, didn't go well.
-$10 1r1a: QQ busted to J10 when he called a 3 bet OOP preflop and flopped the straight, nice try Queen Queen.
-FTOPS KO Event: QQ<66. Button raised and I 3-bet the SB, 3rd or 4th time I had 3-bet the villain. He reshipped and I saw it as frustration rather then strength. And I was right until he hit Quads. Nice try Queen Queen, get in better next time obv.
Overall, ~$4k profit (don't feel like doing the math), and I final tabled both tournies I cashed in.
Personally, everything is cool. Back to work tomorrow :( but shit happens. Back to the grind ya know? Things with Meghan are awesome, that girl is seriously the shit :) I won't see her til Thursday now, but I'll just win every tourney I play between now and then obv. Hockey starts back up next month, gotta start getting back in shape for it. That's bout it, check back for more and I'll write as often as I can.
