Just another Degen Sunday obv

Wow.

That's all I can say about how well I did right now. Wow.

Well the Sunday afternoon $10r on Cake has been renamed "The Ray Schick Invitational." Another final table, and another 2nd place finish. Nothing too special to talk about here honestly, I barely remember the tourney lol.

Congratulations defjux41,

Out of 328 players in Tournament 2803167, you came in 2nd and have won $1,385.50.You've also been awarded 7 Cake Points for participating in the tournament.

Best wishes,The CakePoker Team

Next of note was the $50k Guarantee. I final tabled it last week, and this week I managed another cash in it. Finished 43rd... Again, forgot what I ran into haha. It's been a LONG day so pardon me...

And then the big boy, the $100k Guarantee. Things started out very slow, but slowly picked up. I chipped up to $17k when the following hand happens:

I have AKs in the SB, blinds are 200-400. UTG+2 raises to 1400, and villain to the left calls the 1400. I think for a minute, and then I decide to squeeze for the full $17k. It looks weaker, and it really limits their ranges. Not of course, if you are the villain, who elects to call another 9k with his pocket 4's. I brick out and drop a good portion of my stack. He then berates me about overvaluing AK haha. No sir, you overvalued 4's for ~25bb. Nice try.

I fell to about 4600 at 300-600, and things were looking bleak with ~270 left. I managed to claw my way back into this damn tourney. I made the money at 110 and had 4 bb left (ouch). Then 10's came, and a sick hold puts me back into a semi stack, and then I get 10's again the VERY NEXT HAND. Awesome lol.

I slowly chipped up, and then went on a freaking heater and got to like 180k with 40 left. I ended up moving into the final 2 tables as the chip leader, with roughly 400k after a sick suckout of 6's vs the villain's 7's.

At the final 2 tables tho I faced alot more resistance then I would expect from a Cake tourney. Tons of 4-bet raises over the 3-bets, so I had to really tighten up my range. Next, I get involved in a cooler pot. UTG+1 open shoves 12bb and I'm sitting with 9's in the BB. It's a pretty easy call, his shove looks extremely weak. He flips over 6's but a 6 on the flop gives him the 320k pot. Nothing you can do, and I owed the poker gods for my suckout.

Splashed around here and there and got to the final table holding a mid-position stack. Blinded down a little bit and ended up having to shove 7bb 7-handed with J8s UTG+1. I was quickly losing fold equity and this was the only way to really chip up. CL woke up to 10's, I bricked out, and the tourney was over for me.

Congratulations defjux41,

Another great Sunday in the books, I'm quickly approaching my goal of a $10k bankroll!
