Puckin Nuts Hockey is back

We played our first game Sunday night and won 7-4. I played a pretty decent game, I felt pretty good out there. Almost got that first goal but pretty much got robbed with about 10 seconds left in the game, oh well. Would rather just win games and keep them from having good scoring chances. Our next game is this Sunday at 9pm, hopefully we can put another win on the board!

Ship the Monies

Made two deep runs last night but no dice on the big score.

33rdish in the $10kGuar, ran JJ into AQ for a large stack, guy was a shoving machine so I figured I was at worst a coin flip. Wrong side tho IMO.

24thish in the $5k Turbo, shoved K10s on the button straight into the eye of AK and QQ. Flopped too many outs (10 + 2 flush cards), but wasn't meant to be. Oh well

Crushed cash again, the 11:30pm-12:30am session may become a staple in my schedule. I have murdered that session at .5/$1 for nearly a grand this week alone 8-tabling. MBN

Nearly $6,900 and counting hollerrrrrrrrr

All-Time Bankroll High

Between some cash game profits (the only thing I can profit in lately it seems) and another team dividend, i got my bankroll over $6,650!

Getting closer to that $10k goal, it's starting to look like a reality here...

Tourneys didn't go well last night, got all in for 6600 after a raise to 900 from UTG+1 with my Queens. He snap calls, just absolute insta I have Aces calls for 75% of his stack, but he has AJ off. Nice try Queen Queen.

In the 10k, I may have gotten a little overzealous and ended up playing a 9k chip pot right after the first hour with Jacks(reshipped a raiser) who called with AQs and flopped an Ace. Oops.

Let's see what tonight brings.

Sunday to forget...

Well this Sunday sucked in a word.

We'll get to the good stuff first I suppose. I won a $20+2 tourney on Cake, but there were only19 entries lol... good for $190 tho(paid for pretty much all my satty buy-ins though, and some of my other tourneys.)

I won my seat for the $50 and $100k, but it took alot to get there.

I went semi deep in the $10r, but lost a hand for a top 10 stack late when Queens cracked my Aces. At the same time, I ran AQ into 2's and A4 into Aces in two $50k sattys 10 handed where 8 make the money (I was getting short in both and needed to make a move) and just missed two extra seats. Lost my cool and GG keyboard, lol.

The $50k was frustrating. At one point, I had seen exactly1 flop out of ~115 hands. I became a card rack tho in the 2nd half of the 2nd hour, got AK a few times and Kings once to get my stack up. Then I peaked at 22k in chips. Then the unavoidable came up. BB with AQ at 500-1000 with 18k behind. Button raises to 3,500. I shove all in for the 18 and he snap calls with 7's. Turn Q, river 7 (sigh, he had a flush draw too tho). So I went out about 30 away from the money.

Tried to make a move in the $100k, part move part tilt, and it didn't work lol. Nice try $100k.

I played some cash and just took some sickening hits, flopped set of 9's ran into a running flush for 175 bb pot, and set over set for 200 bb. Gross.

I played last night and it was a grind. I managed to cash the $5r, but it sucked because I had a ton of chips early and just went completely card dead at an active table. Stealing with absolute air was not an option, too loose of play preflop. I had nothing in the $10k too, hour of folding to get AK and get called by deuces AIPF, lol. Nice try AK.

Cash games went well last night tho, I 8-tabled $.5/1, and won about $160. I played pretty well and the guys at my tables were soooo weak. Nearly every C-bet worked, and I got paid on my bigger hands. All in all a good night there...

Tonight I prob won't play many tourneys, the $10k is a bounty so I prob will skip it. I think there's a home game tonight anyways... I need to upload my HH (Dan I promise I'll get those to you shortly).

That's about all, the schedule will prob be light this week, I'm working Sat and Sun is Meg and I's anniversary, and Cow Harbor Day, so hopefully we'll do that. Got my first hockey game of the season Sun night too, GL Puckin Nuts!

Congrats in order for the team

Anthony won a seat in next month's WPT event in Canada, $10k Seat with a shot at a shit ton of money! Congrats man, well deserved, and best of luck!

The team has 15% of his action, and I may buy some of it on the side if Alex didn't buy it all last night lol.

Also, gl to everyone in the PHF leaderboard challenge, do it up! Obv the favorites to win are Dan and Kyle, but I think Pynn is the darkhorse here for reasons I can't disclose but should be pretty obv IMO. Maybe I can make a run at it if I go on another run like I did a few weeks ago...

Another Solid Sunday

Well I haven't wrote about my play or anything in a while... Today was pretty solid overall. I had a few deep runs but no wins again :( I will win one of these damn tourneys eventually...

I bubbled in a unfoldable spot in the morning $10r... 4 limpers into my BB and I'm holding AK and about 13 bb... all the chips are going in. Except the problem was the first limper had Jacks... nice try Ace King.

I finished 13th in the $5r, nothing you could really do.

I finished 4th in the Ray Schick Invitiational (the afternoon $10r) for ~$670.... screwed at the FT again tho. 4 handed I'm sitting with 250kish at 8-16k blinds, and I get Kings in the SB. It goes: min raise to $32k, min raise to $48k, my shove for $250k, fold fold call with 4's. Runs a straight out, so sick. I felt like I really played the tourney well though, I was pretty low for a while and I clawed my way back. I went from ~18k to ~180k in about 20 minutes with 3 tables left. My rebuy tourney game is really picking up thanks to going over hands and tourneys with Dan and Carder and Kyle.

The $50k and $100k were both busts, I got all in with Aces against A6 in the $50k and he ran a flush and I had alot of trouble in the $100k. I consistently got reraised on my C-bets, unfortunately I wasnt hitting the flops to call :( Threw 7 bb in with KQ from the cutoff only to run into AK in the BB, nice try KQ.

This week was rather miserable, I got myself into makeup with a mix of playing like a spewtard and running like crap. Alot of it can be attributed to my play though. I think I got worn out a bit and taking a few days off got me back going again.

I played some cash games today too, and did rather well (~$140 profit 3 tabling .5/1 NL for a half hour or so). The amount of bluffs I picked off were mind boggling. Lets go through a street by street of one very interesting pot:

I'm dealt Jacks in mid-late position. Theres an UTG limp and it folds to me. I raise to $3.50. The guy directly to my right who was a complete blufftard calls, the SB calls, and then UTG calls.

The flop comes 8-7-2, 2 diamonds. the SB checks and the UTG limp/caller bets $7.50. Now, I can pretty much eliminate the top 10% of hands from his range here, there's no way he doesn't reraise with Aces, Kings, Queens, AK, AQ. Maybe he limps with the AK/AQ, but I got that beat on this flop. If he flopped a set, he prob check/raises here. I hadn't seen sophisticated enough play from him to consider a set on a lead out. I decide just to call and see what else happens. The spewtard calls and the SB folds. I instantly put the spewtard on the flush draw.

The turn comes a 9 of spades and our UTG villain bets out $18.75. Again, I feel like I'm beating him but this is a tough spot to put a raise in. I could get reraised pretty light here and throw away the best hand. At the same time in retrospect, a raise eliminates the flush draw guy from another shot at drawing out, although he is a spewtard so he may have called anyway. Regardless, he calls the $18.75 and we see a river.

The river comes a 7, and I instantly feel like I have this hand won. I really can't see the UTG guy having a 7 here, he either has an 8 or pure air. MAYBE he flips over 10s on occassion, I could see that too. He shoves his stack in for $31.75 and you will have to pry these cards away from me. I call and the spewtard folds (which I think confirms my suspicions on the flush draw).

UTG flips over K8 for a flopped top pair and nice try K8, ship the $150 pot to me.
